Sleep disorders are conditions that result in changes in the way of sleep. Sleep disorders are a group of conditions that affect the ability to sleep well on a regular basis. A sleep disorder can affect the overall health, safety and quality of life. Some of the signs and symptoms of sleep disorders include excessive daytime sleepiness, irregular breathing or increased movement during sleep.
• Insomnia refers to the inability to fall asleep or to remain asleep causing depression, difficulty concentrating, irritability, weight gain, impaired work .
• Sleep Apnoea is characterized by pauses in breathing during sleep.
• Restless legs syndrome (RLS), a type of sleep movement disorder. Restless legs syndrome, also called Willis-Ekbom disease, causes an uncomfortable sensation and an urge to move the legs while you try to fall asleep.
• Narcolepsy, a condition characterized by extreme sleepiness during the day and falling asleep suddenly during the day.
• Parasomnias include: sleepwalking, sleep talking, groaning, nightmares, bedwetting, teeth grinding or jaw clenching.
• Difficulty falling or staying asleep
